Lee Young-ae Reveals She Was Fired From a Broadcasting Station Due to Introverted Personality

Actress Lee Young-ae has confessed that she was once let go from a broadcasting station due to her introverted nature.

Appearing on the JTBC show 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' on the 7th, Lee Young-ae and Kim Young-kwang featured as guests. Kim Young-kwang, who had previously appeared on the show 10 years prior, received a warm welcome from the hosts and chefs.

Kim Young-kwang revealed that despite his tall stature and striking features, he possesses a shy and introverted personality. Watching him appear somewhat bashful on variety shows, just as he did a decade ago, Lee Young-ae smiled warmly. When MC Kim Sung-joo asked if she understood, Lee Young-ae replied, "I understand completely. I can talk about it like this now because I have children and am married."

Kim Sung-joo then shared a surprising fact: "You were fired from a broadcasting station because of your introverted personality? You, Lee Young-ae?" Lee Young-ae explained, "A talk show was proposed under my name by another broadcasting station. However, it wasn't about immersing myself in a role; it was about hosting. Because I'm so introverted, I found it impossible to do," expressing her respect for professional MCs' hosting skills.

Lee Young-ae debuted as a CF model in 1990 and has established herself as a leading actress in Korea through continuous acting activities. She has received critical acclaim for her performances in numerous hit works such as 'Dae Jang Geum', 'One Fine Spring Day', and 'Lady Vengeance'. She married businessman Jung Ho-young in 2015 and has one son and one daughter. She recently made a successful comeback with the drama 'Maestra'.
