New K-pop sensation ILLIT is making a significant splash in Japan, with their debut Japanese single "Toki Yo Tomare" (When Time Stops) topping major music charts and showcasing their potent global appeal.

According to Oricon, the single debuted at No. 2 on the Weekly Combined Singles Chart for the week of September 15 (reflecting Sept. 1–7), a comprehensive ranking that includes physical sales, digital downloads, and streaming data. It also secured the No. 2 spot on the Weekly Singles Chart for the same period. Notably, the first-week performance of "Toki Yo Tomare" surpassed that of ILLIT's third Korean mini-album, "I'll Like It," released in June, highlighting the group's rapid ascent.

The group also achieved remarkable success on Billboard Japan, landing at No. 2 on the Top Singles Sales chart and debuting at an impressive No. 4 on the Hot 100 chart.

Adding to their momentum, the music video for "Toki Yo Tomare," lauded for its cinematic, coming-of-age film aesthetic, captured the top spot on LINE MUSIC's real-time and daily music video rankings before settling at No. 2 on the weekly chart (Sept. 3–9).

ILLIT's media presence in Japan has further amplified their popularity. They delivered a captivating band version of "Toki Yo Tomare" on NHK's music program "Uta-Con" on September 9, impressing audiences with their confident live vocals and fresh stage presence, complemented by their chic styling. The following day, they charmed viewers with their playful personalities and variety show skills on TBS's morning program "LOVE it!."

Their live performance prowess is also gaining significant attention. ILLIT kicked off the 41st Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 Autumn/Winter on September 6, Japan's premier fashion festival, receiving an ecstatic response from the crowd. They are also scheduled to perform at the prestigious Rock in Japan Festival 2025 in Chiba on September 14, promising more electrifying performances.

ILLIT, a five-member group under BELIFT LAB, debuted in March 2024 with their title track 'Magnetic.' The group immediately garnered attention for their fresh, youthful concept and captivating performances, earning them the title of '2024's top rookie.' Their music often incorporates elements of dream pop and house, creating a unique and refreshing sound.
