South Korean King of Singers Park Seo-jin and Japanese counterpart Yudai have sparked laughter with their starkly contrasting personalities on the show '2025 Korea-Japan King of Singers Battle'. Despite their differences, they showcased an unexpected 'friendship chemistry' off-stage, captivating viewers.

The second episode of the MBN special, celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties between Korea and Japan, aired on the 9th and achieved a nationwide viewership rating of 5.6%, with a peak of 6.2%. It also topped the charts as the number one entertainment program across all channels on Tuesday. Furthermore, it secured a spot in the TOP10 most talked-about non-drama TV and OTT programs for the first week of September, according to FUNdex and Good Data Corporation, demonstrating both high ratings and buzz.

This episode featured the first meeting between Park Seo-jin and Yudai, both born in 1995 and kings of singers in their respective countries. Their preliminary round performances alone surpassed 1 million views, proving their immense popularity. While they shared similar heights, career lengths, and even hairstyles, resembling 'mirror images,' their personalities were poles apart, showcasing a unique duality.

Yudai, embodying an extrovert (E type), expressed his delight, saying, "I don't have many friends my age who are singers, so I'm so happy to meet you." In contrast, Park Seo-jin, revealing his introverted (I type) nature, admitted shyly, "I didn't have friends either," which drew laughter from everyone. He confessed, "I'm quite shy and have trouble making eye contact." Yudai, in response, lightened the mood with his characteristic chattiness, saying, "Sorry for talking so much. I've never experienced shyness before."

When Yudai proudly showed off his King of Singers belt, mentioning his love for martial arts, Park Seo-jin humorously replied, "Actually, I don't really like sports," eliciting another round of laughter. Despite their opposing natures, the two found common ground in conversation, building a heartwarming friendship.

Notably, Park Seo-jin displayed his 'tsundere' charm off-stage. He personally visited the waiting room of the Japanese TOP7, delivering coffee and preparing Yudai's favorite meal, radiating warmth. Touched by this gesture, Yudai remarked, "He's a friend I'm curious about. I want to know him better," melting viewers' hearts.

The production team announced, "This week's episode will reveal the results of the first round of the main competition, followed by the second round. Please look forward to even more thrilling and high-quality performances, as well as the deepening friendship among the Korea-Japan TOP7."

Park Seo-jin debuted in 2016 with the digital single 'Splendid Audition' and gained significant popularity after appearing on 'Mr. Trot 2'. Known for his powerful vocals and stage presence, he has become a familiar face on various variety shows like 'Joseon's Lover' and 'Tuesday is Good'. He continues to be a beloved public figure, frequently appearing on programs such as 'Achim Madang'.
