Huntricx, the virtual K-pop group behind the animated series 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' has once again hit the pinnacle of the Billboard charts, etching a new chapter in K-pop history.

According to Billboard's latest update on the 15th (local time), Huntricx's hit single 'Golden' has secured the No. 1 spot on the prestigious 'Hot 100' chart for the week of the 20th, marking its fifth non-consecutive week at the top. This achievement surpasses the previous record of four weeks held by David Seville and the Chipmunks' 'The Chipmunk Song' (1958) and The Archies' 'Sugar, Sugar' (1969), making it the longest-reigning No. 1 song by an animated artist in the 'Hot 100's 67-year history.

Furthermore, the soundtrack album for 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' has also claimed the top position on the 'Billboard 200' album chart this week. This simultaneous conquest of Billboard's two main charts marks the first time a K-pop act has achieved such a feat since BTS's 'BE' album and its title track 'Life Goes On' in December 2020, approximately five years ago.

The 'Billboard 200' No. 1 was achieved in the 12th week since the album's debut on the chart, making it the album to reach the top spot after the longest duration since Toby Keith's '35 Biggest Hits' in 2008. The album's journey to No. 1 after spending seven weeks at No. 2 is also the longest wait in the runner-up position since Linda Ronstadt's 'Simple Dreams' held the spot for nine weeks before ascending to the top in 1977.

Huntricx had already set a record on the 'Hot 100' by being the first soundtrack to have four songs simultaneously in the Top 10. This week, their momentum continued, with rival group Saza Boys' tracks 'Your Idol' and 'Soda Pop' each climbing one spot to reach personal bests at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Huntricx's own 'How It's Done' also rose one position to a new peak of No. 8.

The next major focus will be whether 'Golden' can set a new record for the longest-running K-pop song at No. 1 on the 'Hot 100'. Currently, BTS holds the record with 'Butter' at 10 weeks in 2021, with Huntricx's 'Golden' now standing at 5 weeks.

Huntricx is a fictional K-pop group created for the animated series 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.' Their debut song 'Golden' quickly garnered global attention upon its release. They have successfully cultivated a dedicated fanbase, mirroring real K-pop groups, and are achieving consecutive successes on the Billboard charts.
