Quadruplets' Dramatic Birth Unfolds on TV CHOSUN's 'My Baby Was Born Again'

TV CHOSUN's entertainment program 'My Baby Was Born Again' captivated viewers with its first regular broadcast on the 16th, revealing the tense birthing process of quadruplets.

'Birth correspondents' Park Soo-hong, Kim Jong-min, Jang Seo-hee, Kim Chan-woo, Sayuri, and Son Min-soo met the mother of the quadruplets and listened to her story. Park Soo-hong particularly added warmth by delivering gifts of formula and shoes prepared by his wife. The mother shared how, after being diagnosed with infertility at a young age, she conceived triplets through multiple IVF attempts, only for one embryo's yolk sac to divide, resulting in quadruplets.

However, the pregnancy and birth of quadruplets came with numerous challenges. Insurance coverage was difficult due to the multiple births, and the cost of raising four children was four times that of one. With a premature birth scheduled at 28 weeks, there were significant concerns about the health and survival of the underdeveloped babies. The mother had even been advised to consider selective reduction due to limited nutrients and the difficulty of maintaining the pregnancy, but her decision to keep all four babies after hearing their heartbeats deeply moved the audience.

On the day of the birth, despite the involvement of a large medical team, all four newborns were safely delivered. However, a critical situation arose as they were unable to breathe independently and required ventilators. The first and second, followed by the third and fourth, were born without crying and were immediately transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Son Min-soo, who is expecting twins himself, shed tears while witnessing the arduous delivery.

'My Baby Was Born Again' airs every Tuesday at 10 PM, celebrating the birth of new life and sharing the joys of childbirth as Korea's first birth-broadcasting reality show.
