Actress Song Ji-hyo is making her highly anticipated return to the silver screen after a five-year hiatus. Her comeback film, 'The House of Meetings,' has officially set its release date for October 15.

'The House of Meetings' is a heartwarming human drama that tells the story of 'Tae-jeo,' a veteran correctional officer of 15 years, whose first foray into unsolicited kindness blossoms into a radiant connection. The film garnered critical acclaim and praise for its artistic merit at the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival.

This marks the feature directorial debut of director Cha Jung-yoon, who previously won the Grand Prize at the 18th Seoul International Women's Film Festival for her short film 'Go Out: ながよ' and received accolades at various other domestic and international film festivals. In 'The House of Meetings,' director Cha tenderly portrays the bonds of solidarity that form in the complex relationships between a female correctional officer, an inmate, and the inmate's daughter.

The film received praise at the Jeonju International Film Festival for 'depicting a world centered on women, illustrating a network of care among women developing within complex contexts like prison life, and presenting various forms of motherhood while delicately capturing emotional distance over physical connection.' It also secured the Mexico National Cinematheque Award for Distribution Support.

Song Ji-hyo takes on the role of 'Tae-jeo,' a seasoned correctional officer with 15 years of experience. She is set to showcase a new acting transformation by portraying the serious and nuanced changes in a correctional officer who, accustomed to unwavering adherence to rules, begins to alter after meeting an inmate's daughter. Actress Do Young-seo plays the inmate's daughter 'Jun-young,' and Ok Ji-young portrays the inmate 'Mi-young,' promising a display of heartwarming intergenerational solidarity alongside Song Ji-hyo.

Song Ji-hyo first debuted as a commercial model in 2001 and has consistently built her acting career. She has delivered memorable performances in dramas such as 'Princess Hours,' 'Emergency Room,' 'The Woman Who Wants to Marry,' and 'The Beginning of My Love,' as well as films like 'Sex Is Zero' and 'A Frozen Flower.' More recently, she left a strong impression on global audiences with her role in the Netflix series 'A Model Family.'
