KBS 2TV’s new Saturday-Sunday mini-series ‘The Last Summer’ is set to premiere on November 1st, and has heightened anticipation by releasing captivating character posters featuring its lead trio: Lee Jae-wook, Choi Sung-eun, and Kim Gun-woo.
‘The Last Summer’ is a remodeling romance drama that unfolds as a man and a woman, friends since childhood, confront the hidden truth of their first love. The newly released three character posters showcase each actor's unique charm, amplifying the curiosity surrounding the drama.
Lee Jae-wook, portraying Baek Do-ha, embodies a skilled architect and Song Ha-kyung's (Choi Sung-eun) childhood friend of 17 years. His warm yet charismatic demeanor immediately draws attention. The line, “Even if you hate me, I will like you during this summer,” hints at his honest and straightforward intentions.
Choi Sung-eun as Song Ha-kyung plays a civil servant in architecture who waits for Do-ha upon his return from the US. Her lovely smile, coupled with the caption, “My summer is always a season when guests visit,” alludes to her affectionate relationship with Do-ha and raises questions about why their bond soured.
Lastly, Kim Gun-woo transforms into Seo Su-hyuk, a highly successful lawyer boasting a 99% win rate. His neat suit and warm gaze exude a gentle charisma. The suggestive phrase, “With me, you can become the Song Ha-kyung of today,” sparks curiosity about his role in the complex dynamics between Do-ha and Ha-kyung.
‘The Last Summer’ is a collaborative effort between director Min Yeon-hong, known for his stylish direction in works like ‘Rooftop Prince’ and ‘Insider,’ and writer Jeon Yu-ri, praised for her solid writing in dramas such as ‘Kiss Sixth Sense.’ The series promises a romance as passionate and unpredictable as midsummer.
Lee Jae-wook debuted in the 2016 film 'Killer's Outline' and gained recognition through dramas like 'Memories of the Alhambra,' 'Search: WWW,' and 'Extraordinary You.' His role in the 'Alchemy of Souls' series particularly earned him widespread acclaim. He continues to be a prominent figure in acting, recognized as a rising star in romance genres.
