Kian84 Stunned by His Own Appearance from 3 Years Ago on 'Home Alone'
Broadcaster Kian84 expressed shock and amusement upon seeing his noticeably younger appearance from three years ago during a recent episode of the MBC reality show 'Home Alone' (Na Honja Sanda).
The episode, aired on the 19th, featured SHINee member Key visiting the National Daejeon Cemetery to pay his respects to his grandparents.
Key shared that his paternal grandfather was a veteran of the Korean War who was injured and honorably discharged. He visited the cemetery to greet them and later met with his mother.
During his time with his mother, Key revealed that she still keeps a diary, leading to the broadcast of a VCR from three years prior. The footage showed Kian84 looking significantly younger, prompting Code Kunst to exclaim, "Hyung, why do you look so young back then?"
Park Na-rae and Jun Hyun-moo chimed in with jokes about the effects of marathon running, with Jun Hyun-moo attributing Kian84's current appearance to 'running aftereffects.' Kian84 agreed, jokingly suggesting he should have "run in moderation."
When Key noted it was only three years ago, Kian84 responded, "Running must really accelerate aging. I was surprised too," eliciting laughter from the studio.
Kian84 has been actively participating in marathons and running activities. He recently discussed his motivations for running on Sean's YouTube channel.
He explained that running started as a necessity for survival and mental well-being, especially during a difficult period. He added that as he approached 40, running became the only exercise he consistently pursued.
Kian84 also disclosed that he began experiencing panic disorder at age 31, around the time he was serializing his webtoon 'Fashion King' (Bokhakwang). Doctors universally recommended exercise, and he found running particularly beneficial for his mental health.
He further elaborated on his past struggles with alcohol dependency, stating that running helped him reduce his intake and alleviate physical withdrawal symptoms. He described his drinking as near-addiction, consuming nearly a bottle of whiskey every two days, but noticed a correlation between increased running mileage and decreased alcohol consumption.

He has credited running not only for improving his mental health but also for helping him overcome alcohol dependency. His dedication to running and marathon participation continues to inspire many.
