
Jung Sung-hwa & Jung Sang-hoon Recall Shin Dong-yup's Past Generosity: 'He Hooked Us Up with Money!'
Musical actors Jung Sung-hwa and Jung Sang-hoon expressed their gratitude for the past financial support from Shin Dong-yup.
In a YouTube channel video released on the 22nd, titled ‘Shin Dong-yup’s Touching Brother’, the lead actors of the musical ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, Jung Sung-hwa and Jung Sang-hoon, appeared as guests to share various stories with Shin Dong-yup and Jung Ho-chul.
Recalling the past, Shin Dong-yup humorously mentioned, 'Back in the day, they’d come asking us seniors for money to do plays and musicals.' This prompted Jung Sang-hoon to confess, 'After receiving help so often, I started feeling a bit greedy and looked forward to the money,' while also adding, 'He gave us such generous amounts, and I was so happy.'
Jung Sung-hwa further elaborated, 'When Dong-yup hyung visited, those few days felt warm,' adding, 'We could go out to eat delicious food and even pay our overdue rent.' This highlighted the significant impact of Shin Dong-yup's support.
The two actors also shared an anecdote about visiting Shin Dong-yup’s home to prepare a birthday meal as a way to repay his kindness. Jung Sung-hwa revealed he brought a bread-making machine, as he was into baking at the time.
Shin Dong-yup, who had apparently been quite intoxicated the night before, joked that he was so surprised by his juniors’ visit that he almost hit them, much to the amusement of the filming crew.
Furthermore, Shin Dong-yup announced his intention to attend a performance by his juniors from a comedy club, stating, 'It would be nice to go, buy them a drink afterwards, you know,' signaling his continued support for aspiring artists.
Jung Sung-hwa is widely recognized for his portrayal of Ahn Jung-geun in the musical 'Hero'. Jung Sang-hoon gained immense popularity for his comedic acting in the drama 'SNL Korea'. Both actors are currently showcasing remarkable chemistry in the musical 'Mrs. Doubtfire'.
